Artist's Book

Edition of 7 hand-drawn books

This artist's book was created for the .WIT BOEK exhibition at the Fred & Ferry gallery in Antwerp in September 2025. It provides an in-depth view of the concepts, ideas, and preliminary drawings behind Rebekka Löffler's artistic works from that year. It is divided into six chapters that explain her artistic approach. The exhibition was curated by the gallerist Frederik Vergaert and the publisher Bruno Devos. The latter will also showcase it at different locations in the coming months, starting in Tokyo and Seoul in December 2025.

Book Chapters

Chapter One contains the basic forms used for most elements of Rebekka Löffler's paintings. They are the seeds of every painting and are further developed with each new work.

Chapter Two shows the development and variation of the different forms and structures of the elements in her 2025 paintings.

Chapter Three presents finished individual elements featured in her paintings. These are further developments of the processes described in Chapters One and Two.

Chapter Four depicts various colour studies, each setting the colour palette for one of the paintings.

Chapter Five presents small parts of the three-dimensional paper models Rebekka Löffler created as preliminary work for her paintings.

Chapter Six shows a small selection of different background studies for the paintings.

The chapters are accompanied by notes on ideas and concepts featured in her recent paintings or hinting at future works.

As part of the WIT BOOK exhibition, Rebekka Löffler presented also a new drawing from an ongoing drawing series that draws inspiration in part from stories and narratives found in various religions and mythologies. The drawings reflect on the significance of trees, plants, fruits, and blossoms in relation to themes such as life, creation, immortality, and spiritual growth.
